ModernChargeDensityAnalysis

MOFs

We carry out research on metal organic framework and hybrid organic/inorganic materials, investigating the mechanical, magnetic and optical properties, by means of experimental and theoretical investigations.
Here are some examples:

charge and spin density in magnetic frameworks (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2016 in the press)

pressure induced orbital reordering in magnetic frameworks (Chem Comm. 2014, 50, 14504)

Chemical reactions in MOF induced by crystal compression (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2015, 137, 13072–13078)

(a) The unit cell of ZIF-4 viewed down the a-axis. (b) The unit cell of ZIF-4-I viewed down an equivalent direction showing the reduction in symmetry. The solvent accessible volume of (c) ZIF-4 as viewed down the c-axis and (d) ZIF-4-I along the equivalent axis (yellow isosurfaces). Pink: zinc, green: carbon, blue: nitrogen. Hydrogen atoms omitted for clarity.

Mechanical properties in Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs, Chem. Comm. 2011, 47 7983)

Mixed metal oxalates coupling magnetism and SHG (J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2007, 129, 9410)
